HailProof Privacy Policy

Effective Date: June 10, 2026

This Privacy Policy explains how HailProof ("HailProof," "we," "us," or "our") collects, uses, and shares information when you use the HailProof website, platform, applications, reports, maps, subscription services, and related products (collectively, the "Services").

By using the Services, you agree to the collection and use of information in accordance with this Privacy Policy. This policy should be read together with our Terms of Service.

1. Information We Collect

We collect the following categories of information:

  • Account information — such as your name, email address, and a securely hashed password when you create an account.
  • Search and report information — property addresses, locations, date ranges, and search parameters you enter to generate reports.
  • Purchase information — records of the reports and subscriptions you buy. Payment card details are collected and processed by our third-party payment processor; HailProof does not store full payment card numbers.
  • Usage and device data — log data, IP address, browser type, pages viewed, and similar diagnostics used to operate and secure the Services.
  • Locally stored data — certain features (such as saved reports and your Lead Folder) may be stored in your browser's local storage on your device.

2. How We Use Information

We use the information we collect to:

  • Provide, operate, and maintain the Services.
  • Generate the weather searches, maps, and reports you request.
  • Process payments and manage subscriptions and report purchases.
  • Create and secure your account.
  • Improve and develop the Services.
  • Communicate with you about your account, purchases, and support requests.
  • Detect, prevent, and address fraud, abuse, and security issues.
  • Comply with legal obligations and enforce our Terms of Service.

3. Weather Data Sources

Weather and storm event information presented in the Services is derived from public and licensed sources, including the National Oceanic and Atmospheric Administration (NOAA), the National Weather Service (NWS), the Storm Prediction Center (SPC), and licensed weather and geospatial vendors. This source data is not personal information about you.

4. How We Share Information

We do not sell your personal information. We may share information in the following limited circumstances:

  • Service providers — with vendors that help us operate the Services, such as payment processors, hosting providers, mapping and geocoding services, and weather data providers, who may only use the information to perform services for us.
  • Legal and safety — when we believe disclosure is required to comply with applicable law, legal process, or governmental request, or to protect the rights, property, or safety of HailProof, our users, or others.
  • Business transfers — in connection with a merger, acquisition, financing, or sale of assets, subject to this Privacy Policy.

5. Cookies and Local Storage

We use essential cookies to keep you signed in to your account. Browser local storage remembers map layer preferences (such as your last state, county, and display settings) and may store saved reports and lead lists on your device. We do not store payment card numbers, NOAA search results, or property addresses in cookies.

With your consent, we use Google Analytics to understand how the site is used. You can accept or decline non-essential cookies through the banner on your first visit. Marketing conversion tags (such as Meta Pixel or Google Ads) are not enabled unless you opt in and we turn them on for a campaign.

6. Data Retention

We retain personal information for as long as needed to provide the Services, maintain your account, comply with our legal obligations, resolve disputes, and enforce our agreements. Data stored locally in your browser remains until you clear it or it is removed by the application.

7. Data Security

We use reasonable administrative, technical, and organizational measures designed to protect your information. However, no method of transmission or storage is completely secure, and we cannot guarantee absolute security.

8. Your Choices and Rights

Depending on your location, you may have the right to access, correct, update, or delete certain personal information, or to object to or restrict certain processing. To make a request, contact us using the information below. We may need to verify your identity before acting on a request.

You may also update your account details or close your account at any time, and you can opt out of non-essential marketing communications using the unsubscribe link in those messages.

9. Children's Privacy

The Services are intended for business and adult use and are not directed to children. We do not knowingly collect personal information from children. If you believe a child has provided us personal information, please contact us so we can delete it.

10. Third-Party Links and Services

The Services may link to or rely on third-party websites and services that we do not control. This Privacy Policy does not apply to those third parties, and we are not responsible for their privacy practices. We encourage you to review their policies.

11. Changes to This Privacy Policy

We may update this Privacy Policy from time to time. When we do, we will revise the Effective Date above. Your continued use of the Services after an update constitutes acceptance of the revised Privacy Policy.
